What is Drug Addiction Rehab?
A drug addiction rehab center is exactly what it sounds like: it’s a space that provides the tools that are needed for individuals who are addicted to drugs to become rehabilitated. A variety of tactics are employed to treat the addiction, including detox, counseling, and various types of therapies. These tactics aim to help patients understand the root of their addiction – what caused it in the first place – offers treatment for the factors that lead to addiction, and teaches patients ways to effectively deal with their addiction moving forward so that they can abstain from using and remain sober.
At Ocean Hills Recovery, we offer both outpatient and inpatient drug rehab treatment options. Which option is right for you? There are several factors that come into play when determining what type of treatment will offer the most effective results. We will conduct a complete assessment of your addiction and take into account your specific situation and recommend a treatment option that we believe we work the best for you.
With outpatient rehab, you will receive treatment for your addiction via therapies and counseling, and you will also receive ample amount of support. You will come to our facility several times a week to receive treatment; the length of each visit will be dependent on your needs. After your treatment sessions are complete, you will return back to your own home. Typically, outpatient rehab treatment lasts for a period of one month, though we do offer longer programs.
Outpatient rehab is ideal for people who are addicted to drugs but have other obligations that prevent them from remaining at our facility. For example, you may have to work, or you may have a family that you need to attend to. With outpatient rehab, you can receive treatment while still attending to other obligations.
Inpatient rehab is residential treatment; in other words, you will remain at our facility during the duration of your treatment. You will attend counseling and various therapies, but you will also fully reside at our center until your treatment is complete. Typically, the average length of stay for inpatient rehab is 30 days; however, we do offer longer options, such as 60- and 90- days. If your addiction is severe or if there are any underlying factors that are contributing to your condition that need to be addressed so that you can recover, we may suggest that you stay with us for a longer period of time.
Inpatient rehab offers several benefits. Perhaps the most notable advantage is that you have the ability to receive around-the-clock care and always have access to support when you need it. You also have the benefit of receiving support from other people who are also trying to overcome an addiction to drugs. This camaraderie is truly beneficial for the treatment process and has been proven to help make rehab an even more successful process.
For many people, not knowing what to expect during the rehab makes the process very intimidating. For that reason, we feel that it is important for anyone who is considering Ocean Hills Recovery for treatment to understand what to expect when they attend our rehab center.
Whether you are interested in inpatient or outpatient rehab, the first part of the process involves an intake assessment. During this assessment, you and a clinician will go over a variety of important factors related to your addiction, which will help us gain a better understanding of your unique circumstances. For example, you will discuss the type of drugs you are using, how long you have been using them and how often, whether or not you have tried to stop using before, and whether or not there is a family history of addiction. You will also undergo a full physical and psychological assessment.
We will use the information collected during your intake assessment to determine what approach will work best for you. Once your unique plan is devised, your treatment will begin. Treatment will include counseling and various therapies that will aim to truly assist you with overcoming your addiction.
If you are struggling with an addiction to drugs, please know that help is available, and Ocean Hills Recovery is here to provide that help.
