At Ocean Hills Recovery on the relaxing, beautiful oceanside resort city of Dana Point, California, lives are being turned around and potential unlocked. Our inpatient drug rehabilitation center gives you the intensive therapy and tools you need to defeat alcohol and drug addiction. It helps put you back on the right path so you can live a successful, happy and productive life. You live with other people who are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction while getting the help you need to recover from your addiction.

Improving the quality of life.

Ocean Hills Recovery focuses on helping clients develop insight into the negative role that drugs and alcohol play in their lives. Usually, substance abuse has taken a great toll on family relations, employment, and their health. Many clients have experienced legal problems, lost jobs, failed in school and/or lost their families as a result of drug and alcohol abuse. Ocean Hills Recovery teaches clients to live without drugs and alcohol for sober living.

Emotional support.

Some are reluctant about starting a residential drug treatment program because of the amount of commitment required, as well as the intensity of daily treatment. However, our staff members are geared to provide plenty of emotional support for the work that needs to be accomplished. We encourage family participation in a client’s recovery, as well. In addition, the therapeutic community that exists provides encouragement from others facing the challenges of recovery.

Dual Diagnosis.

Dual Diagnosis is a term used to describe people who have a psychiatric disorder along with a substance use disorder. Ocean Hills Recovery does accept individuals who have a dual diagnosis. Common examples of patients with dual disorders include patients who suffer from major depression with cocaine addiction, alcohol addiction with panic disorder, alcoholism and polydrug dependence and borderline personality disorder. Some patients may have more than one diagnosis.

Detox.

Medically supervised detoxification is a vital first step on the path to recovery from addiction. Detox helps ensure the safe stabilization of physical withdrawal symptoms and other medical complications. It is extremely important to protect yourself or your loved one against the dangerous complications associated with the acute stage of withdrawal. That’s why it is so important to seek care from a sober living center that provides true, medically supervised detoxification.

Therapy programs.

Our patients are exposed to a variety of therapeutic methods, both traditional and evidence-based. On a given week, you will get a medical checkup, have several one-on-one meetings with your primary therapist, and participate in group therapy sessions. By experiencing our affordable and widely available therapies while in our drug rehab program, we believe that clients develop additional lifestyle skills. These skills will enhance their odds of successful addiction recovery when they return to their home communities. Therapies offered include:

Individual and Group Therapies.

With individual therapy, clients work one-on-one with an experienced therapist to uncover the root cause of their addiction in a secure and safe environment. With group therapy, clients are able to work through addiction issues together and they can receive feedback, encouragement, and support.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) therapy aims to help people explore the connections between the way they think, the way they feel, and the way they behave. That process could help people to handle difficult emotions and unusual feelings without putting their sobriety at risk.

Some key characteristics of cognitive behavioral therapy include:

  • Understanding that external events do not create negative thoughts. The way we perceive and think about those events produces emotions and unstable behaviors.
  • Builds a relationship between the client and therapist. This opens up communication regarding emotions and problematic behaviors.
  • Focuses on controlling emotions when confronted with an upsetting circumstance.
  • Addresses issues that relate to depression, relationship conflicts, and panic disorders.

Family/Couples Therapy.

Our therapists meet with family members and the recovering addict in order to make sure all parties are on the same page when it comes to the treatment of the addiction. The therapist encourages all parties to work through issues that have caused problems in the past, so a fresh slate can help them move forward in their recovery. This way, any relationship moving forward can be positive and healthy.

Alternative therapy.

We schedule various alternative therapies including massage and art therapies, which help to reinforce the more clinical drug rehab treatments and keep each day spent with us interesting and rewarding. While these therapies cannot cure you of drug addiction, they can empower you with a healthy and entirely individual strength and spirit. This helps you cope with life’s daily stresses and anxieties in a helpful constructive manner, rather than self-medicating with drugs or alcohol.

Fitness center.

Exercise offers numerous recovery benefits: less depression, anxiety, and stress; and better sleep are just a few. Patients can choose from our high-end equipment including elliptical trainers, recumbent bikes, treadmills, free weights, etc.

Leisure skills groups.

Clients learn to trust, improve communication and team building, and how they can incorporate meaningful leisure activities into their recovery plan.

Chronic Relapse Prevention and Treatment.

An addiction therapy program is only as good as how long the individual remains sober. At Ocean Hills Recovery, we believe that rediscovering a lost sense of responsibility and accountability in the daily lives of our clients leads to a realization of the essence of their addiction and establishes a lifestyle for living that will not erode over time. Our relapse prevention and treatment options help our clients to understand the triggers and daily stressors that result in relapse. Clients can also acquire and refine the necessary healthy life skills necessary to deal with urges constructively without going back to drug abuse.

Regardless of your previous treatment or recovery experience, our goal at Ocean Hills Recovery is to expose each client to a wide range of support groups, mental health tools, and perspectives so they can make educated decisions about self-management. Please call us today and seek help from a professional with years of experience. You are not alone. In fact, our entire team is ready to help you …
